10 Simple Revolutions That Will Boost Your Confidence
1. Make a list of books and movies you want to read/watch
And make a program! How long does it take you to finish a book? Is it one week or one month? Say to yourself that you will read a book or two each month. The movies are easier because you can even watch one everyday. But if you don’t have the time, you can try watching two movies per week. But it has to be the movies that you choose, that you always wanted to see. If you want some suggestions, check out these books and movies.
2. Find a new hobby
Do you like music? You could start learning an instrument. Do you already know how to play a musical instrument? Start a band! Do you like learning new languages? Dancing? Photographing? You’ll be surprised by how many new hobbies a person can find. All you need to do is search for what you love.
3. Arrange your sleeping schedule
Well, you don’t have to be military strict about it. But arranging your own sleeping schedule and sticking to it as best as you can will definitely help you out in the long run. You won’t feel drained or out of sorts, for one. It’ll become easier for you to wake up early and regulate your internal clock. And you’ll see that having fixed sleeping hours is a great start for the next step, which is:
4. Act positively
More than just thinking positive, you have to put it into action. Action, actually, is the key to developing self-confidence. It’s one thing to learn to think positive, but when you start acting on it, you change yourself, one action at a time. You are what you do, and so if you change what you do, you change what you are. Act in a positive way, take action instead of telling yourself you can’t, be positive. Talk to people in a positive way, put energy into your actions. You’ll soon start to notice a difference.
5. Get out of your comfort zone
When you do the things that you think you can’t, your comfort zone will continue to expand. Even doing something seemingly small every day will lead you to something bigger. You will grow and will begin to feel unstoppable. Just take that first step.
6. Have a balanced diet
No, I am not saying you are fat. No, I don’t mean go vegan or vegetarian. “Balanced” just doesn’t mean boxes and boxes of junk food piling up on your kitchen counter. Thankfully, these past couple of years a trend has been rising from adoring junk food to adoring good food, and that is what a balanced diet means. Eat good food, try new recipes, fruits, vegetables, meat, make sure you get all the nutrients you need. Fill your body with nice, tasty things, and your body will reward you.
7. Try to exercise a little
This has very little to do with how you are outwardly, than with how you feel inwardly. Exercise helps produce happy hormones. Exercise helps you blow off steam. Exercise boosts your confidence and sense of accomplishment. Exercise is good for your health. Even walking can prevent cardiovascular problems, so try and do a lil’ something 2-3 times per week. You don’t have to be a bodybuilder, you just have to be moving.
When we meditate, we become more aware of, and more capable of controlling, our thoughts. A key part of meditation revolves around noticing our thoughts without judging them or getting caught up in their stories or meanings. This helps us to develop a different perspective on our internal dialogue, develop a greater understanding of ourselves, and practice noticing our thoughts and feelings without attaching meaning or judgement to them.
9. Save up for a trip
And generally make sure you can handle your finances. Travelling is one wish that almost everyone has, and the one thing you will never regret. Experiences are what remain in you when all else is gone.
10. Love yourself
Compliment yourself regularly, either by looking in the mirror and saying something you like about yourself or writing it in a journal. Many times, we’re quick to compliment others on their success but hesitate to do the same for ourselves.
